Lionel Lofton studied under John Biggers at Texas Southern University. He works across printmaking, painting and mixed media, combining acrylic, watercolor and colored pencil.
Lofton described art as a universal language and an inseparable part of living. His cultural background serves as a continuing source of strength, pride and creative direction.
Although known for colorful abstractions, his imagery repeatedly returns to inner strength, beauty and spirituality, moving realism toward a more symbolic and emotional register.
